First Aviation Congratulates Charles Childress on 55 Years of Service

Winston-Salem, NC, December 8, 2020 – Piedmont Propulsion Systems, LLC (“PPS”), a wholly owned subsidiary of First Aviation Services Inc., and the entire First Aviation family would like to recognize Charles Childress’ incredible 55 YEARS of Service! While officially retired, Mr. Childress has been a dedicated team member with Piedmont Propulsion Systems since January 1970 and continues to mentor technicians today. Mr. Childress, whose career started with service in the United States Air Force, performed maintenance on Dowty, Hamilton Sundstrand, Hartzell and McCauley propellers as a technician, crew chief, quality inspector and manager. In 2016, he received the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award by the Federal Aviation Administration for his lifetime accomplishments as a senior mechanic and PPS’ facility was named in his honor. Mr. Childress has been an integral part of the success of Piedmont Propulsion Systems and his leadership has resulted in the training of generations of mechanics.
